Fingerprint Requests
The South Lake Minnetonka Police Department will fingerprint individuals who need it for employment, child care, child adoption, professional licensure, or other valid reasons. We utilize the state-of-the art, inkless LiveScan system. This service is available to anyone who lives or works in Excelsior, Greenwood, Shorewood, or Tonka Bay. There is a $10.00 fee per fingerprint card. You will need to provide current photo identification. This service is available on a limited basis and by appointment only. Application form is available at the SLMPD administrative offices at 24150 Smithtown Road in Shorewood, and must be picked up in person during regular business hours. Applicants must be residents of one of the four cities served by SLMPD. Positive picture identification required. Obtain a Police Report
Requests must be made during regular business hours.
Accident Report Copies: $5.00 - One or two single sided pages, same accident .25 - Each additional single sided page, same accident

Participate in a Ride-Along
Persons pursuing employment or education in law enforcement, law enforcement personnel from other agencies, and city personnel (including elected officials in the performance of their duties), can request to participate in a ride-along with an SLMPD officer. If you meet one of these requirements, call the SLMPD at 952-474-3261 during business hours and ask to speak to a supervisor to arrange a ride-along.
