Donations Sought For Cardiac Defibrillators The South Lake Minnetonka Police Department is seeking donations toward the purchase of additional automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to be carried in SLMPD patrol cars.
Officers of the South Lake Minnetonka Police Department are usually the first to arrive at the scene of a medical emergency in the community and have already used these devices on several occasions to successfully resuscitate victims of sudden cardiac arrest. The addition of more AEDs will allow the SLMPD to have every squad car and the police station equipped with this life-saving technology. In addition, the newer models are compatible for use on children should the need arise.
The devices cost about $1,700 each under a state contract. If you wish to make a donation toward this goal, please contact Community Service/Crime Prevention Officer Dave Hohertz directly at (952) 960-1619 or via e-mail at email@example.com .
