Bryan Litsey - Chief of Police/Emergency Management Director
In response to the H1N1 novel influenza, the South Lake Minnetonka Police Department (SLMPD) has received several informational bulletins from Hennepin County Emergency Medical Services to help guide and protect all our personnel. This is in addition to the protocol already in place and the protective gear and products that are available to department personnel.
Since SLMPD personnel are first responders to medical calls, they stand a greater likelihood of being exposed to the influenza. It is important, therefore, that they take the appropriate precautionary measures so as not to become sick themselves. Being stricken with the influenza not only makes them unavailable for work, but also puts their families at greater risk. The SLMPD is carefully managing this situation so we can maintain appropriate staffing levels.
